Places Of Interest Hereford

Looking for the best things to see and do in Hereford? The cathedral city has plenty to keep you entertained during your stay. There are a lot of places of interest you can explore so narrowing them down can be tricky. To help make it a little easier, here are some of the most popular places of interest in Hereford you won’t want to miss…

Hereford Cathedral is easily one of the best things to see in the city. Originally built in the 7th century, the cathedral was reconstructed during the Norman period. The architecture of the building is remarkable, boasting impressive features like semi-circular arches and columns. There is a beautiful, calming atmosphere inside the cathedral and it is a fascinating place to visit for history and cultural buffs.

Another great place to head to is the Black and White House Museum. Constructed in the 1620s, this striking Jacobean timber framed building is also referred to as the Old House. Originally it was used as a butcher’s shop, then for other commercial purposes, before it became a museum in 1929. When you walk into the museum, it looks exactly how it did back in time.

Right outside of the Black and White Museum, you’ll find another popular attraction – the Bull Statue. It was erected in 2012 and pays homage to the Hereford cattle that made the city famous.  It is estimated that there are around five million Hereford cattle spread across 50 nations. The life-size bronze statue is now a key landmark in the city.
